I hear a lot of people talk about how they are unlucky. Poker players, Scrabble players, people in general talk about how they are unlucky because one minor thing or another happened to them. Some people take it really personally. But in reality, it’s just luck.
Even if you are unlucky at Scrabble or poker, remember that you have cosmic luck. Everyone is lucky enough to be sitting down, playing the game that they love, and has the ability to remember words, find words, and understand the strategy of Scrabble. I’ve been lucky enough to have friends who care about me, an ability to play Scrabble well, an ability to eat, breathe, and live life as I choose. Ultimately, all of our characteristics: our morality, or intelligence, our sex, our ambition, our ability to work, our abilities... they weren’t of our choosing. We are lucky enough to feel what we feel and do what we do.
